Floyd student named 4-H diplomat

Floyd High School sophomore Lane Wallace was inducted as a 4-H state diplomat during the annual 4-H senior leadership retreat in Albuquerque in January.

Wallace joins Sierra Baca of Santa Fe County, Kylie Butterfield of De Baca County and Shelby Herrera of Valencia County as the 2012 state diplomats.

The senior 4-H members will share the ambassador and diplomat responsibilities, which include assisting with the parade and tours at the New Mexico State Fair, planning and conducting the 2013 senior leadership retreat and assisting with the State 4-H Conference.

They will also attend the Arizona team leadership camp — Journey: Opportunities for Leaders of Tomorrow and assist the New Mexico 4-H Youth Foundation in contacting donors and with public relations.
