The fourth annual Souper Bowl will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army, 317 E. Second St.
For $5 ($6 for to go orders), guests can choose a bowl to eat their choice of homemade green chile stew, posole, potato soup or minestrone — and take the bowl home afterward. The soups will be served alongside homemade desserts and breads.
Proceeds from the event goes to local families in need in the Clovis area. There will also be a silent auction in the chapel of the Salvation Army building to help raise funds for the families.
About 200 people took part in the Souper Bowl last year according to Major James Gallop. He said he hopes to have more this year.
“Anybody that would like to should come and enjoy a bowl of soup and see what we are all about,” Gallop said.
