First United Methodist Church in Clovis is pleased to announce the addition of Ken McDonald to its professional staff.

McDonald will serve as the director of music ministries and brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served in such flagship churches as Polk Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo, Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston, and First United Methodist Church in Midland, Texas.

In addition, McDonald has already made several commitments to be actively involved in making music outside of the church in the Clovis community.

McDonald has received degrees from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, and from the University of Texas in Austin. He is married to Marge Wolf McDonald, currently a Realtor in the Austin area, who is wrapping up work with her clients and in the process of moving to Clovis.

“Both Marge and I are so excited to be a part of the Clovis community, and the folks at FUMC have welcomed us warmly,” McDonald said.

Exciting musical plans are being made for the 2011-2012 musical season, including the establishment of a graded children’s and youth choir ministry.

“Our musical offerings are open to anyone in the community who would like to participate. I think you will find that there is a choir for any age and any type of musical taste. I will be directing all of the ensembles this first season and really look forward to the challenge,” McDonald said.

Children’s, youth and adult choirs will be available for all ages. For information contact McDonald at 763-3461.
