With food, music and fun, Saturday marks the 39th annual Nazareth German Festival in Nazareth, Texas.

The day-long festival begins at 9 a.m., all times Central, in the community of Nazareth, with a tour of the Playa Lake Classroom. Activities, including an arts and crafts show, history exhibit, fiddle contest, children’s games and a petting zoo, will take place at locations throughout the community. Fees may be charged for some activities.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a German sausage dinner will be held in the Community Hall, a highlight of which is the Best of the Wurst Sausage Cook-Off.

Live music will also be played on a stage behind the Nazareth Post Office from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Gates open for the annual Suds ‘N Sounds concert at 5 p.m., offering six bands at a charge of $25 per person.

Music will be performed by headline band Eleven Hundred Springs as well as the Texas Rebels, Hogg Maulies, No Dry County, the Zack Edwards Band and the Out of Luck Band.

Trailers and campers are allowed, but no glass containers.

Nazareth is located about 70 miles east of Clovis on Texas Highway 86.
