Designated drivers to be rewarded

Designated drivers will be rewarded through a holiday program being launched by the Curry County Sheriff's Office.

Participating businesses where liquor is sold are offering free gift bags containing sodas, snacks and clothing apparel to individuals who volunteer to be designated drivers, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

The incentive items are donations through partnerships with Premier Distributors, Coca-Cola and Frito Lay.

To report a drunk driver, residents can call #DWI from a cell phone or police dispatch at 769-1921.
