Hounds harriers move up in region rankings

Freedom New Mexico

The Eastern New Mexico University men’s cross country team, which has not finished lower than second in any of its six meets this season, moved up one notch to fourth in this week’s South Central Region rankings by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Greyhounds, who won meets hosted by West Texas A&M and East Central, finish a program-best second in Saturday’s Lone Star Conference championships at Abilene, Texas. The No. 4 ranking is the highest the program has achieved.

ENMU squads return to action Nov. 20 in the South Central Region championship, hosted by Central Missouri. The top two teams and top two individuals not on those teams qualify for the national meet Dec. 4 at Louisville, Ky.
