Airmen of the 27th Special Operations Group and Special Operations Maintenance Group, along with their families, enjoyed a day of fun, food and games Saturday at Cannon Air Force Base's Fall Festival.

Capt. Scott Reinecke, with the 73rd Special Operations Squadron, worked as the point of contact for the event which filled the largest hangar on the base.

The event included static displays of seven aircraft including the MQ-9 Reaper, MQ-1 Predator, AC-130H and MC-130W. Explosive Ordnance Disposal was on hand to show their bomb-handling robots to children, along with the fire department and ambulance team.

“This is just a nice afternoon with the people that we work with on base,” Reinecke said. “And a chance to bring families to see what their deployed family members do.”

Senior Master Sgt. James Vaughan, with the maintenance group, said the day is about appreciation.

“We are trying to appreciate all the friends and families of those who work with us,” he said.
