Ticket feature: ENMU Wind Sympony hosting concert

The wind symphony of Eastern New Mexico University is hosting a free concert.

The concert has been organized to illustrate the diversity of wind instrument compositions, according to a press release from ENMU.

The performance will include the selections: “Fanfare Canzonique” by Brian Balmages, “Chester” by William Schuman, “October” by Eric Whitacre, “William Byrd Suite” by Gordon Jacob,” Autumn Dream” by Archibald Joyce and a march piece.

During the concert, a piece of artwork will be displayed. The piece was created by ENMU alumnus Charlayne Heselton years ago during the wind symphony’s first performance.

According to the release, the Wind Symphony is enjoying the newly remodeled Floren Thompson Jr. Band Hall in the music in the music building and has experienced more productive rehearsals through the improvements.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Oct. 17 in Buchanan Hall in located in the Music Building.
