LUBBOCK — Junior Mohammed Noor’s sixth-place finish helped Eastern New Mexico University to second place in the men’s division of the Texas Tech Open cross country meet Friday night.
ENMU finished with 72 teams points to 35 for the host Red Raiders in a nine-team competition.
Noor’s time was 25 minutes, 12.74 seconds in the eight-kilometer men’s race. The Greyhounds put four runners in the top 19.
ENMU’s women were third in team standings with 96 points, trailing South Plains at 56 and Texas Tech with a perfect score of 15.
Freshman Adrienne Montoya and junior Nicky Reid both broke ENMU’s existing women’s record for a 5K race, with Montoya finishing at 19:21.59 for 10th place and Reid at 19:24.28 for 11th.
The Hounds and Zias are back in action next Saturday in the Oklahoma State Jamboree at Stillwater, Okla.
