CLGA appreciates Clovis muni course

Please allow me this opportunity to congratulate the Clovis Ladies Golf Association for providing another wonderful year of golfing for the ladies of Clovis.

By providing lessons, the members of the association have introduced many women to the game and many others have been given the opportunity to improve their skills.

The CLGA recently hosted a wonderful golf tournament, which was one of the best in this area. Due to the inviting atmosphere and the great condition of the municipal course in Clovis, there was a waiting list of teams wishing to enter. Wow — imagine that! This very successful tournament took place on the very course that was recently referred to as the “ghetto course” in a letter to the editor.

In an area where there is not an abundance of green grass and trees, it is such a pleasure to have this nice course in Clovis where our citizens can play and even hold tournaments.

I’d like to thank the city of Clovis employees that work so diligently to keep this course in such great condition. I know I speak for many others who truly appreciate their hard work and are proud of this course.
