Portales police still awaiting information
Portales police say there is still no word on the outcome of forensic analysis of evidence in the slaying of Eastern New Mexico University student Angel Vale.
Portales Deputy Police Chief Lonnie Berry said the state crime lab has not released any paperwork to his department with any conclusions about the evidence.
Until that happens, he said, he cannot comment further about the case and any additional charges that may arise.
No one has been charged with Vale’s slaying.
The 13-year-old boy charged with burglary in connection with the case is still in custody at the juvenile detention center in Clovis, Berry said.
