Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities

Press release: 21st Annual Cannon Appreciation Day set for August 6th

There’s no question that Cannon Air Force Base is an integral part of the local community. And for the past 20 years, the local community has shown its support for the individuals and families who are dedicated to preserving the safety and freedom of the United States of America. Now, for the 21st year, the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, Clovis Industrial Development Corporation, and Committee of 50 are proud to present the 21st Annual Cannon Appreciation Day!

“We look forward to putting on this event every year,” says Rhonda Bargman, Chairman of the Cannon Appreciation Day Committee. “It’s such a great opportunity to show those who ensure the freedom of our country just how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication!”

From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, those stationed at Cannon, their families, and civilian employees who work on Base are invited to come out to Unity Park to enjoy all the festivities Cannon Appreciation Day has to offer! There are tons of fun activities planned for the event, including free hamburgers and hot dogs, bounce houses for the kids to play in, great music, and games and prizes for children and adults alike. One highlight of the event is sure to be the games of horseshoes, volleyball, pie-eating and tug-of-war. Further adding to the excitement will be the thousands of dollars in door prizes, generously donated by the Committee of 50!
