School board may name superintendent

The Clovis Municipal Schools board of education is meeting in special session 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to possibly name a new superintendent.

The board plans to recess into executive session to discuss the position of superintendent.

The agenda also states the board will reconvene from executive session and consider an offer of employment for the next superintendent.

Candidates are Mount Pleasant (Texas) Independent School District Superintendent Terry Myers and Wichita Falls (Texas) Independent School District Assistant Superintendent Tim Powers.

The new superintendent will replace Rhonda Seidenwurm, who announced in January that she would be leaving at the end of the school year after five years with the district.
