Police blotter — July 4

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 2 p.m. June 21 an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Hondo Street for a report of a stabbing.

A man with a hole in his bottom lip told the officer a suspect he knew stopped his vehicle in front of the residence and exchanged words with him then ran up and tried to hit him, then they began fighting.

The man said the suspect pulled a screwdriver out of his pocket and jabbed it at his lip.

He said they continued fighting, then the suspect fled in his vehicle.

An ambulance and detective were called to the scene.

Around 1 a.m. June 23 an officer responded to a business in the 1400 block of Norris Street for a report of robbery.

A clerk said a man came in and asked for change for a dollar and when he opened the register, the suspect grabbed $20 in five dollar bills and fled.

The officer reviewed the surveillance and observed the sequence of events as the clerk had described. The video was placed into evidence.

Around 11 a.m. June 25 an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Venus Avenue for a report of a shooting.

A man said he was driving on Prince Street when a man with whom he had a long standing feud pulled up beside him and pointed a gun at him.

He said they traveled several blocks on Prince Street and in the 900 block, the suspect pulled up beside him again and shot two rounds through the driver’s side door of his vehicle then sped off.

He showed the officer two holes in the door of his vehicle.

The officer took statements on the incident and a detective was called to investigate.

About 2 p.m. June 25 an officer was dispatched to the parking lot of a business in the 2000 block of North Prince Street for a report of indecent exposure.

A woman said her 11-year-old daughter had been approached in the parking lot by a male who exposed himself to her.

The girl said she was putting some things in a vehicle when the male pulled up behind her in a vehicle and asked her if she would do something for him for money.

She said she noticed that while he was asking her, he had his genitals exposed so she tried to get away and he kept moving his vehicle to block her.

She said she told him to leave her alone and he finally drove off.

The officer took descriptive information on the suspect.
