• Math instructor Kim Luna plans to retire May 15, after beginning at Eastern New Mexico University in 1980. She teaches trigonometry, statistics, college algebra and mathematical discovery.
• Olympia Chino, a department division secretary in the Technology Building, plans to retire June 30 after 28 years of employment.
• ENMU alumnus Jesse K. Davis is scheduled to be at the ENMU Bookstore for a meet-and-greet signing of his new novel, “2012 — The Fifth Ring — Redemption,” 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.
• Associate Professor of Management John Luhman presented a paper titled “Reimagining Narrative Research as Archeology?” at the Qualitative Research in Management and Organization Conference April 6-8 in Albuquerque.
• Mark Dal Porto, professor of music, had his composition titled “Procession for Violin and Piano” performed at the Dualities New Music Festival held April 11 at the University of Central Missouri on in Warrensburg.
• Former employee Lynne Wall died Thursday night. Wall worked in computer services for many years and retired as the supervisor of computer operations.
Sigma Chi Car Washing for Children's Miracle Network
The Sigma Chi fraternity of ENMU is set to host its first Car Wash for Kids from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Dairy Queen parking lot.
The car wash is free and donations will be accepted for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Fraternity members are accepting pledges for donations based on the number of cars washed that day, as well as flat donations.

Upward Bound Student Receives $20,000 Dell scholarship
Jerome Anaya of Clovis schools and ENMU’s TRiO — Upward Bound Program has been named a Dell Scholar by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation. He is only student from New Mexico to be chosen.
Dell Scholars receive $20,000 each to continue their higher education for the next six years. The Dell Scholars Program also provides technology, resources and mentoring to help involved students obtain a college degree.
ENMU student competing for beauty crown
Desiree Markham, a graduate student in the Communicative Arts and Sciences Department, will compete for the Miss New Mexico title June 12-18 in Albuquerque. She is accepting donations for Children’s Miracle Network.
