Clovis AYSO to host ninth annual tournament

Clovis’ American Youth Soccer Organization is hosting its ninth annual Clovis Festival touranment this weekend throughout the city.

Registrar Lisa Houfek said 43 teams are playing from 6-and-under to 14-and-under in boys, girls and coed divisions. The teams come from as far as El Paso, Houfek said.

The tournament gets underway 8 a.m. Saturday at the AYSO fields on Echols Avenue, near Bob Spencer Park, and near 14th and Norris streets, adjacent to the Guy Leeder Softball Complex.

Play goes through 6:30 p.m. and continues Sunday. Admission is free to all games.
