Marshall music students take top honors

Congratulations go out to choir students from Marshall Middle School on their recent success at the 2010 Southeast New Mexico Music Educators Association Solo and Ensemble Festival held on Saturday, February 13th, 2010.

Twenty-nine students from Marshall sang solos, and 24 received the top rating of “Superior” and eight of those students went on to receive the coveted “Superior Plus” award. Additionally, five soloists received a rating of “Excellent.”

Marshall had 10 ensembles perform. Eight ensembles received the top rating of “Superior” and two of those went on to receive the “Superior Plus” award. The other two ensembles received an “Excellent Rating.”

In total, Marshall students brought home a total of 90 Superior medals from the contest! The Marshall Choir Program is under the direction of Ms. Lori Atkinson.
