Last outing: On Wednesday the teams played at Greyhound Arena, with ENMU erasing a nine-point, second-half deficit to edge the Buffaloes 61-58 in overtime.
Of note: The Greyhounds ended a 10-game losing streak to the Buffs, dating to a 2003-04 season sweep. WT leads the all-time series 58-13. … With a win today, ENMU would essentially have a three-game lead over the Buffs for fourth place in the South — two actual games, plus a tie-breaker. The top four teams in both the North and South advance to the conference tournament March 4-7 at Bartlesville, Okla. … Since starting the season 4-1, the Hounds had lost 11 of 14 games before Wednesday’s victory. Meantime, it was the fourth loss in a row for WT. … ENMU scoring leaders through 20 games are 6-6 junior F Tyler Jefferson (12.6 ppg) and 6-0 junior G Reggie Nelson (11.1). Jefferson also leads the team in rebounding (6.2 rpg), blocks (16) and FG percentage (just under 60 percent, 81-of-136), while Nelson is shooting 84 percent from the free throw line (64-of-76). … Senior G Jimmie Marshall tops the squad in assists (69) and steals (43).

Last outing: The Lady Buffs, ranked No. 9 in NCAA Division II, pulled away after a nip-and-tuck first half to beat the Zias 75-57 at Greyhound Arena on Wednesday behind 21 points and five steals from junior G Joni Unruh.
Of note: The win was WT’s 12th in a row over the Zias since ENMU won back-to-back, both at home — 73-70 was on Feb. 17, 2003 and 76-57 on Dec. 16, 2003. WT leads the all-time series 52-9. … ENMU’s last win in Canyon was on March 1, 1994, a 73-70, double-overtime contest in the first round of the LSC tournament. That came three days after the Zias beat WT 74-62 in the regular-season finale at Portales. … ENMU's last regular-season win in Canyon was on Jan. 10, 1981, a 75-67 verdict in coach Wayne Moore’s first season at the helm. Moore posted a 315-261 record for the Zias before retiring in 2002 after 22 seasons.. … ENMU’s leaders this season have been junior F Cat Clay (15.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg), junior F Til-Lois Fifer (10.2 ppg, 5.9 rpg) and junior G Tori Northcutt (5.0 apg). Northcutt, who is third in the LSC in assists, has 104 for the season compared with 64 turnovers, while Clay ranks fifth in 3-point FG shooting (44 percent, 68-of-153) and is tied for third in FT shooting (83 percent, 55-of-66).
