PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University’s 2010 football schedule has been announced as the Greyhounds prepare to move from the Lone Star Conference’s South Division into the North Division for the first time.
The Hounds, who went 3-8 overall and 0-6 in the South in 2008, will have six home games, beginning with the Aug. 28 opener against NAIA member Southern Nazarene (6-5 last season), a perennial contender in the Central States Football League.
The game has been designated the Hall of honors Game by the ENMU athletic department.
ENMU will then play two crossover games against South Division rivals — Sept.4 at Angelo State (6-5) and Sept. 11 against Midwestern State (9-3) at home.
After an open date, the Hounds open their North schedule at home on Sept. 25 against defending champion Texas A&M-Commerce, which went 5-5 overall but 5-0 in the division. That will be followed by division contests at Southwestern Oklahoma (1-10), at home against Central Oklahoma (4-7) and at East Central (0-11).
After a third crossover game at home against Abilene Christian (9-4) on Oct. 23, they will wrap up with division games against Southeastern Oklahoma (7-4) at home and at Northeastern State (2-9) and a non-league game on Nov. 13 at South member Tarleton State.
