Long RR crossing wait
BNSF says it set a new train length record from southern California to Clovis.
It happened July 10.
A 12,000-foot train — that’s 458 cars plus seven locomotives — delivered 11,256 tons to BNSF docking facilities in Clovis.
The train traveled 1,151 miles.

On this day in 1789, America's first presidential election is held.
Voters cast ballots to choose state electors; only white men who owned property were allowed to vote.
As expected, George Washington won the election and was sworn into office on April 30, 1789.
