Muleshoe school honored
DeShazo Elementary School in Muleshoe was named one of the 2009 Just For the Kids Higher Performing Schools in Texas for Mathematics, according to a news release.
The award was given by the National Center for Educational Achievement, the release said.
The school uses a math curriculum called Math that Works.
An award ceremony is scheduled for January in Austin, Texas.
The NCEA will release a full list of Just For the Kids Higher Performing Schools in Texas on its Web site, http://www.nc4ea.org, in January to coincide with the ceremony.
