Police say one person was injured Tuesday when a pickup truck rear-ended another vehicle on Chicago Avenue.
Portales Police Deputy Chief Lonnie Berry said a 2007 Nissan driven by Barry Vaughn, 34, of Clarksville, Ark., was stopped on Chicago waiting for traffic to clear when he was hit by a southbound 2005 Chevy pickup driven by Ricardo Puentes, 23, of Portales.
Berry said Vaughn wasn’t injured.
Puentes was treated and released at Roosevelt General Hospital.
Puentes was cited for following too closely, no proof of insurance and not having his drivers license, Berry said.
