10/25 Police blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 9 a.m. Oct. 14 an officer responded to a school in the 1900 block of Thornton Street for a report of criminal sexual contact.

The principal said he had been contacted by an assistant principal from another campus regarding a female student being touched inappropriately by a male student.

He provided the officer a written statement from the girl saying a male student had been touching her inappropriately on the bus and making nasty comments to her.

The officer consulted the district attorneys office and was told charges of criminal sexual contact would be filed.

Around 2 a.m. Oct. 16 an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Calhoun for a report of public affray.

Officers spoke with a woman at the residence who said she was having a party and allowed officers in to look around.

The officers discovered a locked door and heard ruffling noises inside.

After several knocks on the door, the door was opened from the inside and several men were located inside the room.

One of the men kept giving officers inconsistent identification information until another man in the room gave officers his true name.

It was discovered there was a warrant for his arrest and he was transported to the jail.

About 1 a.m. Oct. 18 an officer was patrolling in an undisclosed area when he saw two subjects run inside an apartment.

The officer stopped and knocked on the door and a juvenile male answered.

The officer noted the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the apartment.

The officer told all three youth in the apartment to contact their parents and when one of the boys refused and became threatening, the 17-year-old was arrested.

One of the other 17-year-olds was cited with possession of marijuana and the third with allowing himself to be served.

Around 2 a.m. Oct. 18 an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Reid for a report of a stabbing.

A man with a puncture wound said he had been walking on Fourth Street near Reid and Thornton when he saw a man hitting a woman in the alley and intervened.

He said he was jumped by four or five subjects and stabbed.

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The officer went to the area to talk to witnesses, however no one admitted to seeing anything.
