The Portales Valley Mills awarded a contract the previous afternoon for the construction of a warehouse of 40 feet by 140 feet at the plant on the Clovis highway, John Burroughs said in the Portales Tribune. The new building will be of story steel frame and tile construction. The contractor, Lyle and Holt of Clovis, expected to get to work on the project in the morning two days later.
