Press release: Airman arrested for child pornography

On Wednesday, August 5th, Investigators with the Curry County Sheriff’s Office arrested Zebulon Benne, 24, of Clovis and charged him with 50 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children (each a fourth degree Felony), and 10 counts of Manufacturing Child Pornography (each a second degree Felony.)

During the course of an on-going investigation, Curry County Sheriff’s Investigators, with assistance from the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office and Air Force OSI Agents, executed a Search Warrant at Benne’s residence located on Fairway Terrace in Clovis. A preliminary scan of Benne’s computer found fifty images of children of prepubescent age engaged in sexual acts.

Investigators stopped the preview after 50 of those images were located. A complete forensic analysis of the computer will be conducted, after which additional charges are anticipated.

Benne is a Senior Airman and has been stationed at Cannon Air Force Base for the past 10 months.

Benne was booked into the Curry County Adult Detention Center. His bond is set at $500,000 cash or surety.
