Intermin superintendent named

Farwell’s Mike Read was named interim superintendent of Farwell Independent School District by the school board July 2.

The board will meet on 10 a.m. CST July 24 to officially name him superintendent as required by state regulations.

Read has been the Farwell High School principal for the past three years. Read, 48, began teaching in 1984 and has worked as a biology teacher, varsity girl’s basketball coach and principal at the elementary, junior high and high school levels.
