One person died and a mother and two children were injured in an automobile collision just before 9 p.m. Thursday night on U.S. 70 northeast of Portales.
State Police Sgt. Clint Varnell said a small pickup truck appeared to have t-boned a small car. The driver of the car was killed, Varnell said.
The passengers of the truck, the mother and two children, were taken to Roosevelt General Hospital, he said. Varnell said they might have been transported to somewhere else from there.
State Police were still investigating the scene of the accident at press time and were withholding identification of the persons involved until families could be notified.
