The following are closed Monday for Memorial Day:

Today

• 8 a.m. — VFW and American Legion members will be spreading out flags at area cemeteries

Monday

• 9 a.m. — United Daughters of the Confederacy observance, United Daughters of the Confederacy Circle, Portales Cemetery

• 10 a.m. — Memorial Day observance, Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens

• 10:30 a.m. — The American Legion observance, Portales Cemetery. Lunch at The Bread Basket follows

• Noon to 3 p.m. — Veterans, active military, fire and police employee cookout, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3280, 200 Grand Ave.

• 2 p.m. — Members and guest cookout, VFW Post 3015, 2815 7th St.
