Homicide fugitive contacts law enforcement

Clovis, NM — Ninth Judicial District law enforcement officials and the Clovis News Journal were contacted yet again today by fugitive Noe Torres, a Clovis man wanted for the September 15, 2005 conspiracy and shooting death of 10-year old Carlos Perez. During this conversation Torres attempted to give excuses for his flight to avoid arrest and unsubstantiated claims of innocence with regard to his standing charges.

Law enforcement advised Noe Torres that in no way are they willing to negotiate his case with him over the telephone or meet his irrational demands. Torres was advised that law enforcement are open to discussing a self-surrender to keep all parties involved, including the public, safe from injuries. Torres was advised that local law enforcement officers are continuously working on his apprehension with state, federal, and international authorities.

In the event Torres is hiding in a foreign country, the District Attorney’s Office has filed the necessary paperwork for an international arrest and an international extradition. The extradition judicial process is a collaborative effort between the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, and the United States Department of Justice.
