Place: Blackwater Draw Museum and Archaeological Site
Location: The Blackwater Draw Museum is located on U.S. 70 between Clovis and Portales. The Blackwater Draw Archaeological dig site is located 5 miles north of Portales on N.M. 467.
What activities are available here? The dig site has hiking trails that will allow visitors to witness evidence of the Folsom, Paleoindian and Archaic cultures. The museum houses many artifacts such as tools and weapons that have been recovered at the dig site. The museum also has a “touch and feel” table for children and areas designated for RV parking.
