Annexation up for city council discussion

The Portales City Council is set to consider an increase in the municipal judge’s salary and a notice of intent dealing with the Stratton Annexation.

The council meets 7 p.m. today at City Hall.

The agenda also includes a notice of intent to change the zoning of annexation to R-2, a contract for banking services with First Community Bank and a resolution to support an application for funding through the state Department of Transportation for work on U.S. 70.

The council is also to vote on a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute an amendment to the grant contract with the state Economic Development Department for a downtown master plan. A report on the plan is also scheduled.
