ENMU women finish eighth

RANGER, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University’s women placed eighth over the weekend in their spring rodeo opener, the Ranger College Rodeo.

Junior Kacey Kobza finished fifth in goat tying, earning fourth in the first go and fifth in the second go. She also took sixth in breakaway roping.

ENMU’s men finished 11th overall. Junior Cole Jackson was second in the first go of steer wrestling, while senior Grady Goodson and his partner from West Texas A&M were third in the short go and placed third in the average in team roping.

Senior Ted Flewelling and his partner from Howard College split first and second in the first go of team roping, placed sixth in the short go and finished fifth in the average.

ENMU is scheduled to compete at West Texas A&M this weekend.
