Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 2 a.m. Jan 4 an officer responded to a call of shots fired at an undisclosed residence.
Three teenage males in the home told the officer a group of four male teens came to the door and threatened them with a handgun.
One of the teens said he became fearful and shut the door and one of the suspects started kicking it then they left.
They said no shots were fired.
The teens gave the officers descriptive information on the suspects but became hesitant to talk about the incident and started whispering among themselves.
When asked if they were telling the whole truth, the boys said they knew more but weren’t going to talk to the officer about it.
The officer documented the incident and the statement of another witness.

About 10 a.m. Jan. 4 an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of 10th Street for a larceny report.
A man said a female came to the door and asked to use the phone, which he let her do.
After the woman left, the man said he noticed his wife’s purse was open and the couple discovered a wallet had been taken.
The man said he chased after the woman but couldn’t find her.
The man’s wife said her wallet contained identification and family photos but no money.

About 1 p.m. Jan. 4 an officer responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Red Cloud Place for a burglary report.
A man said he had been out of town for about five days and when he returned home, he found the door to his residence open.
He said there was nothing missing but a trash can had been moved and a closet door opened.

About 3 p.m. Jan. 4 an officer responded to a business in the 3000 block of Prince Street for a report of shoplifting.
An employee said he observed a man select two DVDs from the shelf, then walk around the store and slip the DVDs in his pocket.
The man then walked through the front door of the store, triggering the alarm.
When confronted, the man said the suspect turned over the DVDs.
The 56-year-old was issued a citation for shoplifting
