Senior fitness event to be held

New Mexico Senior Olympics is conducting a TREK health education event free for residents age 50 and up from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Eastern New Mexico University’s Greyhound Arena.

New Mexico Senior Olympics and Roosevelt General Hospital are scheduled to present interactive workshops.

Planned topics include health issues, falls prevention, Medicare, exercise program EnhanceFitness and Senior Olympic Sports clinics.

Roosevelt General Hospital is scheduled to conduct free health assessments.

Participants should wear comfortable clothes and are encouraged to bring a sack lunch.
