Library/Media Center
The following books currently are available at the PHS Library/Media Center:
“Open Court” — Hall Braxton is a warrior on the tennis court, who routinely obliterates her competition. Her parents and coach want her to enroll at a prestigious tennis academy in Florida so she can take her game to the next level, but Hall isn’t so sure she wants to leave her friends and family in Colorado behind. When her doubles partner suffers a breakdown at a tournament and her coach’s voice suddenly disappears from her game, Hall questions if it’s possible to be a tennis phenomenon and a regular teenager at the same time.
“The Squared Circle” — Basketball, to Sonny Youngblood, is like breathing. It’s natural. It’s an instinct. It keeps him alive. He can play. He’s the player SIU needs to contend for an NCAA Championship. And he’s met a lot of people along the way. Aome give and some take; some are friendly and some condescend; some compliment and some ask questions. When Sonny reunites with a fiercely intelligent woman from his past, he could find a way to escape the questions and the memories that are tearing him apart. But the price is steep: to reclaim the person he once was, he must destroy the player he is.
