Basketball starts Monday

The 2008-2009 PHS boys and girls basketball season officially begins this week. Varsity, junior varsity and freshman squads start practices and workouts Monday. The PHS varsity and junior varsity boys open up the season against Roswell High School on Dec. 9 in Roswell. The varsity and junior varsity girls open the season against Clovis at home Nov. 25.

ENMU preview day scheduled

PHS seniors interested in learning more about Eastern New Mexico University’s academic course offerings, touring the campus and residence halls, as well as the opportunity to meet faculty and students, are invited to ENMU Green and Silver Preview on Saturday. Check-in is 8:45-9:15 a.m. at the Campus Union Building. Students can register at http://www.enmu.edu/srpreviewday. Students and parents may also contact Stephanie McClary with ENMU Enrollment Services at 562-2178.

Performance planned

The PHS Performing Arts Center will perform “Peter Pan and Wendy,” adapted by Doug Rand from the novel by J.M. Berry. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 23. Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the door. To purchase tickets, call 356-7015.
