ENMU squads finish seventh, ninth

KINGSVILLE, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University finished seventh out of nine teams in men’s competition and ninth out of 12 in women’s standings Saturday in the Lone Star Conference cross country championships, hosted by Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Abilene Christian took five of the top six individual spots and ran away with its 18th consecutive LSC men’s title, finishing with 17 points to 77 for runnerup Tarleton State. ENMU, led by sophomore Logan Robertson’s 30th-place finish in 26 minutes, 1 second for the 7,700-meter course, had a team score of 174.

The ACU women, seven-time defending champs coming in, took the top two individual finishes but settled for fifth place tis team with 122 points. Midwestern State won the team title with a score of 58, followed by West Texas A&M at 84.

ENMU had a team score of 243, and was led by junior Jerri Martin, 42nd in 26:29 over the 6K course.
