Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
The 35th annual Peanut Valley Festival will be held this weekend at the Campus Union Building at Eastern New Mexico University.
Event organizers hope the good weather forecast for the weekend will draw a large turnout for this year’s festival.
There will be 65 vendors selling arts and crafts, food along with live entertainment such as music.
Festival coordinator Tracy Henderson said that the focus of this year’s event will be on quality arts and crafts, according to an ENMU publication.
All of the inside vendors’ spots have been filled, and additional vendors will be outside the CUB building, said chamber manager Mandi Park.
“There are some returning vendors, but there are a lot of new vendors that will be attending this year’s festival,” Park said. “We’re hoping for high attendance and high sales for this year’s festival.”
Many of the items will feature handmade qualities or original designs, according to the publication.
“It is a traditional event that people look forward to each year,” Henderson said. “Crafts are really big in this area.”
The goal of the festival is to raise funds that go towards scholarships for ENMU students.
