Methodists to hold VBS

The First United Methodist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School entitled “Galilee By-the-Sea Marketplace,” from 6-8:30 p.m. nightly this Monday through Friday at the church, Second Street and Avenue C.

Children ages 3 to fifth grade are invited for Bible-time, crafts, games and Middle Eastern snacks.

Stimulus check assistance available

Persons who did not file a 2007 federal tax form will not receive a stimulus check unless they file an abbreviated 1040A form before Oct. 15, according to a press release.

Community activist Dolores Penrod has the forms and offers free assistance in filling out the form.
