Business owner recognized at conference

Clovis’ Glass Doctor owner Gene Porter was recently recognized at the company’s 2008 annual conference, according to a press release from Glass Doctor.

Given the company President’s Award for the second time in three years, Porter was lauded as a franchisee who is, “committed to building a great Glass Doctor franchise, helps other franchises and overcomes business challenges.”

Porter also received the “Top Gun” designation for being in the top 10 percent of franchises who achieve sales, operation and other benchmarks.

“I’m humbled to win this (President’s) award a second time, it’s unbelievable,” Porter said in the release. “I just think if you’re good at the simple things, it can lead to big things. We’re thankful to all our customers in Clovis and we’re looking forward to serving new customers in Hobbs and doing some big things there.”

Having his repair teams visit local beauty shops and offer to repair glass chips, replace windshield wipers and clean windshields for patrons and staff was one example given of Porter’s creative business efforts, the release said.
