Cannon receives construction funding

The U.S. House Appropriations Committee approved legislation Tuesday that includes $26.4 million earmarked for two construction projects at Cannon Air Force Base, according to a press release from U.S. Representative Tom Udall, D-N.M.

About $18 million will be used be used to build an aircraft maintenance hangar for C-130 aircraft and about $8 million will be used to build a training facility for CV-22 aircraft crews, according to the release.

The legislation also includes funding for more veterans affairs claims processors, affordable military housing and help to veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other mental illnesses, according to the release.
