Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 4 p.m. Wednesday an officer responded to a department store in the 3000 block of Prince for a shoplifting report.
A 13-year-old was seen placing cosmetics in her purse and two adult women with her were heard opening CD packages in the bathroom, he said.
The suspects denied shoplifting through an interpreter because they did not know English.
Approximately $80 of merchandise was recovered.
The women were arrested for shoplifting and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The 13-year-old was issued a citation and released to a family member.

About 6 p.m. Wednesday an officer responded to convenience store in the 1400 block of Norris for a larceny report.
A clerk said a male pre-paid for $5 of gas but when the pump didn’t shut off, he pumped more than $23, then left.
The clerk said she knows the suspect’s father so she called him and he came and paid for the gas but said he wanted his son charged with larceny.
The officer noted intent to seek a warrant.

Around 10 p.m. Thursday an officer responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Main Street for a domestic dispute.
A woman said her boyfriend became upset when her daughter received a phone call after 9 p.m. and started pushing her. When she intervened, she got pushed and hit in the mouth.
The man, who said he didn’t remember anything, was arrested for battery on a household member.

Around 6:30 a.m. Friday an officer was dispatched to the corner of 11th and Prince Streets for a report of an intoxicated woman in traffic.
The officer found the woman laying on her back looking up at the sky and reaching for imaginary objects in the air.
The officer noted she had a lighter and a metal pipe lying next to her on the ground and when he told her she had “dropped her crack pipe”, she replied “I’m busted”.
The woman became combative and tried to kick the officer and the windows of his patrol vehicle.
She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and assault on a police officer.
