WASHINGTON — The House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water and Power held a hearing today to consider the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water Projects Act, legislation introduced by U.S. Representative Tom Udall, D-N.M. in the House to help eastern New Mexico meet future water needs.

H.R. 5710, which was introduced in the House and Senate on April 3, 2008 would authorize the federal government to build a pipeline to carry water to several communities in Curry, Roosevelt and Quay counties.
