More than 200 pairs of hands clasped to form a circle Friday in the center of the wind whipped football field at Clovis High School.

Heads bowed, members of the circle each said a prayer for CHS senior Jaden Isler, who is being treated at an Amarillo hospital after he collapsed Thursday night while attending a softball game in Canyon, Texas, according to school officials.

“We ask that you continue to give him strength. Thank you for everything you’ve already done... It’s only for their love of Jaden and their love of you (God) that they’re here now ... Place your hand on the Isler family and give them comfort ... We pray now for Jaden that you will be his healer today ... Give him breath God, please” the prayer chain continued as tears and wishes mingled on the field.

CHS Athletic Director Brian Stacy traveled to Amarillo on Friday to be with the Isler family at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital.

“He’s doing better,” Stacy said early Friday evening “They took the breathing tube out. At least he’s awake now.”
