WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM MST THIS EVENING INCLUDES CURRY AND ROOSEVELT COUNTIES
THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM MST THIS EVENING.
SNOW AND SLEET WILL AFFECT AREAS MAINLY SOUTH AND EAST OF A LINE FROM CLOVIS TO RUIDOSO TODAY. PRECIPITATION WILL START OUT GENERALLY AS SNOW BUT SLEET WILL EVENTUALLY INCREASE IN COVERAGE
AS THE AFTERNOON GOES ON. ESPECIALLY AFFECTING CHAVES AND ROOSEVELT COUNTIES. SLEET AND QUITE POSSIBLY FREEZING RAIN WILL BEGIN TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE LATE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST PLAINS AND LAST THROUGH THE EVENING. GLAZED ROADS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN SPOTS...ESPECIALLY ALONG HIGHWAY 70 AND HIGHWAY 380. CONDITIONS WILL BE MOST HAZARDOUS OVER BRIDGES AND CULVERTS AND IN SHADED SPOTS.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE ELSEWHERE WITH 1 TO 2 INCHES EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. FAVORED AREAS FOR THE HIGHER SNOWFALL TOTALS WILL BE FOUND ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE SACRAMENTO MOUNTAINS.
