The Clovis Area Transit System is seeking public input to determine if changes should be made to the system.
The city-run transit system is considering instituting a fixed route/fixed time bus service, according to CATS Director Mary Lou Kemp. A commuter service to Portales is also being considered, she said.
A public information and input session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library.
Kemp said public input surveys are also being gathered. Surveys are available at http://www.cityofclovis.org. The deadline to submit a survey is Oct. 31.
“We need citizens to step up so we can make this determination,” Kemp said.
CATS provides curb-to-curb service from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays through an advance reservation system.
Kemp said reservations are requested a minimum of one day in advance.
CATS, which has nine drivers and 11 vehicles, is slated to move to its new location on Seventh Street in November.
