Oct. 14 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent reports filed by Clovis-area law enforcement officers:

Around 6 p.m. Oct. 4 an officer responded to a home in the 600 block of Seventh Street for an assault.

A man told the officer a man he had been in jail with told him if he came out on the streets he was going to have him killed.

The officer took a written statement.

About 10 p.m. Oct. 4 an officer on patrol saw a man urinating in the area of 14th and Sycamore streets.

The officer noted there was activity on athletic fields nearby and the man was facing a busy road.

He was given a citation for indecent exposure.

About 2:30 p.m. Oct. 5 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of North Prince Street for an assault.

An employee told the officer she had encountered a male near the dumpster when she went out back for a break. She said she became scared because the man was tearing something apart and started swinging his hands and talking about an explosion.

The man, who was taking apart an old air conditioning unit near the dumpster, told the officer he didn’t speak English.

He was arrested for aggravated battery.

About 3 p.m. Oct. 5 an officer went to a home in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to locate a suspect.

The officer smelled marijuana when a woman opened the door. The woman gave him permission to search the house and he found a marijuana cigarette.

The woman was given a citation.

Around 11:30 p.m. Oct. 5 an officer took a report of battery at the police department.

A woman told the officer she had argued with a family member over a will. She said the man kept poking her with his finger and when she woke she found bruises.

She told the officer she didn’t want to press charges but wanted the incident documented.
