Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 7 p.m. Sept. 6 an officer responded to an apartment in the 1300 block of Pile Street for a domestic dispute. A woman told the officer a 31-year-old female cousin had been fighting with her 16-year-old daughter and pulled a knife out of her purse. She said she was cut on the arm when she tried to stop the fight. Officers found the woman down the street and arrested her.

About 10 p.m. Sept. 7 officers responded to a home in reference to an assault. A woman told the officers her 14-year-old daughter tried to punch her and broke things in the house when she refused to let her leave. The woman said her daughter has an older boyfriend and she doesn’t approve. Officers tried to talk to the girl and she refused to speak, kicking a chair when they told her to sit down. She was arrested for assault on a household member.

Around 10 p.m. Sept. 7 an officer responded to a home in the 800 block of Rencher for a theft report. A woman told the officer she had dinner with her daughter at a restaurant in the 800 block of Lexington Street and when they came out a box containing five chandeliers had been stole out of the back of her truck. The lights were valued at around $600.

About 9 p.m. Sept. 7 officers responded to a home in the 200 block of Wilmington for a domestic dispute. A child called police and said his parents were fighting. The man told officers he tried to stop his wife from leaving the house because she had been drinking and she slapped and scratched him. Officers noted scratches and red marks on the man. The woman was arrested for battery on a household member.

About 11 p.m. Sept. 7 an officer was flagged down in the area of Fourth and Main streets in reference to a battery. A woman told the officer she had been driving with a man in her car and when she told him she would not give him a ride to Portales, she said he demanded to be let out and then hit her in the side of the head. The officer advised her on how to file battery charges in municipal court.
