Maj. John Johnson took command of the 27th Maintenance Operation Squadron in a change of command ceremony today at Hangar 133.

He replaces Maj. David Nicholson whose next assignment will be at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Johnson is a prior enlisted Marine who accepted an inter-service transfer to the Air Force. He graduated from Officer Training School in 1995. Among his assignments in the Air Force includes duty at Hurlburt Field, Travis Air Force Base, Calif. and Robins Air Force Base, Ga.

The Airman’s Attic is located in the same building as the Post Office and Community Center. The Airman’s Attic will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 3, 17 and 31. Staff sergeants and below and their dependents are eligible to shop. Each family is permitted up to 20 items per week. All items are free. Donations are welcome but should not be left outside the door.

A Federal Employment Seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. July 26 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. This seminar will give information on applying for a federal job.

The Work Force Investment Act training will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.
