CHS TENNIS: Lady Cats finish second

HOBBS — Freshman Heather Trujillo claimed the No. 1 singles championship with a 5-3 win over Hobbs’ Lindsay Spears on Friday in the Hobbs Invitational tennis tournament.

The pro-set match was stopped by weather, and the rest of the tournament, scheduled to be finished on Saturday, was cancelled.

Clovis finished second to Hobbs in girls team standings in the eight-team event. Hobbs also won the boys team title, with Clovis finishing sixth.
